The following are the key points of the safe operation procedures for deicing agent spreaders
1. Preparation before loading
(1) Check the main components of the deicing agent spreader to ensure that they are intact.
(2) Check the working conditions of key components such as the engine, transmission, clutch, etc. to ensure that they are operating normally.
(3) Check the connection status of various pipelines such as oil, water, electricity, and gas to ensure that there is no oil leakage, water leakage, electricity leakage, or gas leakage.
Check the flexibility and reliability of various operating devices such as joysticks, pedals, buttons, switches, etc.

2. Loading snow melting agent
(1) Load snow melting agent according to the prescribed proportion and dosage to avoid over- or under-loading.
(2) Ensure that the loading area is well ventilated to prevent harmful gases from causing harm to the human body.
(3) During the loading process, smoking, using open flames or other activities that may cause fire are prohibited.

3. Inspection before driving
(1) Check the tire pressure and wear to ensure stability and safety during driving.
(2) Check the working condition of the braking system to ensure that the brakes can work properly and pay attention to the braking distance.
(3) Check the functions of various auxiliary devices such as lights, horns, wipers, glass cleaners, etc. to ensure safety during driving.
4. Safe operation during driving

(1) The driver should stay focused, pay attention to road conditions and traffic signals, abide by traffic rules, and ensure safe driving.
(2) Control the speed of the vehicle to avoid driving too fast or too slow to ensure stability and controllability in the snow.
(3) When encountering complex road conditions such as slopes, curves, snow piles, and ice surfaces, drive carefully to avoid accidents.
(4) When spreading snow-melting agent, ensure the uniformity of the spreading and the coverage area to avoid excessive or insufficient spreading, resulting in waste or omissions.
(5) When the snow-melting agent spreading vehicle has a malfunction or abnormality, stop the vehicle in time for inspection and treatment to avoid further development of the accident.

Operators should follow the following steps to spread the de-icing agent:
Park the vehicle at the work position for spreading the agent and ensure that the vehicle has stopped completely. Open the lid of the de-icing agent storage container and use a dust collector to spread the de-icing agent evenly on the road surface.
Control the speed and range of the spreading agent to ensure that the spread de-icing agent evenly covers the entire road surface. During the spreading process, observe the road conditions and make adjustments as needed.

After completing the de-icing agent spreading operation, the operator should end the operation according to the following steps:
Close the lid of the de-icing agent storage container to ensure that the de-icing agent does not leak.
Turn off the engine of the de-icing agent dispersing vehicle.
Park the vehicle in the designated parking area and lock the door.
Clean up the vehicle after completion, including cleaning up the residue of the spreading agent and de-icing agent.

Road ice and snow in cold seasons have a certain degree of impact on the entire transportation system, economic system, and people's normal outdoor activities and work. In winter, the colder regions of my country generally have snow and ice on the road. In recent years, the south has also suffered heavy snowfall many times, causing huge losses. The bad climate not only brings inconvenience to people's transportation, but also causes property losses and even threatens people's lives. Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen the prevention of traffic safety accidents under adverse climatic conditions and solve the problem of road snow and ice melting. High-latitude regions and countries in the world have studied the problem of snow and ice accumulation on roads in winter and have obtained many effective prevention and control measures, including the use of snow melting agents, manual mechanical removal, microwave heating vehicles, new road materials, conductive concrete, heating cables to heat the road surface, etc. At present, the most commonly used methods for road snow removal are spreading snow melting agents and manual mechanical snow removal. Spreading snow melting agents is widely used because of its high efficiency.

The basic principle of snow melting with deicing agent is that salt dissolves in water to lower the freezing point of the mixed solution. After spreading deicing agent on ice and snow below 0°C, when the concentration of salt water is enough to lower its freezing point below the temperature at that time, the ice and snow will melt into salty snow water. The whole process can be divided into two parts: one is the endothermic behavior. Each kilogram of solid ice and snow needs to absorb 335kJ of heat to melt into liquid water at the same temperature; the other is the dissolution behavior. The deicing agent, as a solute, dissolves in the snow to become a deicing agent solution. Its concentration becomes thinner with time. At the same time, the deicing agent also acts as a wetting agent to reduce the surface tension of the ice, destroy the lattice bonds inside the ice, and increase the entropy of the solution, thereby lowering the freezing point of the melted snow water. Finally, the deicing agent and the ice and snow melt together to form a solution and no longer freeze.
