When the rotary tiller is operating in the paddy field, special attention should be paid to the following points to ensure the quality of operation and equipment safety:

Water depth control:
Maintain an appropriate water depth in the paddy field, generally recommended to be 3-4 cm. This helps to reduce mud formation and improve the quality of operation, while avoiding the increase of operating resistance of the tractor and rotary tiller due to improper water depth and reducing wear.

Preparation before operation:
The field should be soaked for 2-3 days before operation to soften the soil for rotary tillage.
Check the various parts of the rotary tiller, especially the installation direction and tightening of the rotary tiller blade, and the stability of the universal joint lock pin, to ensure that all parts are in good condition.

Power engagement and starting:
Before starting the tractor, make sure that the clutch handle of the rotary tiller is in the disengaged position.
Engage the power of the rotary tiller in the lifting state, and wait until the rotary tiller speed reaches the predetermined value, and then slowly lower the rotary tiller to make the blade enter the soil. It is forbidden to start directly when the rotary tiller blade enters the soil to prevent damage.

Operation speed and method:
Adjust the speed of the hand tractor and the speed of the rotary tiller plow shaft according to the field conditions and operation requirements. For unplowed rice stubble fields, a lower speed may be required for the initial operation, and then adjusted according to the situation.
Use appropriate rotary tillage methods, such as shuttle rotary tillage, interlaced rotary tillage or circular rotary tillage, to ensure uniform operation.

Number of rotary tillage:
Determine the number of rotary tillage according to the agronomic requirements of rice cultivation. Generally, 2-3 rotary tillages are more suitable for seedling throwing and machine transplanting; 2 times are sufficient for manual transplanting. Too much or too little will affect the soil structure and crop growth.

Safety and maintenance:
Avoid backing up or making sharp turns after the rotary tiller enters the soil to prevent mechanical damage.
When turning at the head of the field, the rotary tiller should not be lifted too high, the universal joint angle should not exceed 30 degrees, and the engine speed should be reduced.
When transferring plots or walking long distances, be sure to cut off the power of the rotary tiller, raise the rotary tiller to the highest position and lock it to reduce wear and fuel consumption.

Maintenance:
After the operation, carry out necessary cleaning and inspection, especially remove the soil and weeds attached to the rotary tiller to extend the life of the equipment.
Regularly check and replace lubricating oil and filters to ensure smooth operation of the machine.
Following these precautions can effectively improve the efficiency and safety of rotary tillers in paddy fields, while ensuring the quality of farmland operations.
